the Surplus perfume by London-based artist Jammie Nicholas. Apparently, he was inspired by the book The History of Shit by Dominique Laporte (I'm seriously gonna find this book and see what's so inspiring that somebody thought it's a brilliant idea to make a perfume out of it... as if the world had been looking forward to smell like their un-flushed toilet bowls. ). This "eau de shit" has a smell-combo of feces and dirt ( Very refreshing!) and costs $80 per bottle.I didn't know it's that expensive just to smell like feces. Who in their right minds would spend 80 bucks to smell like a piece of crap, you may ask. Well, 25 people already did. Yes! 25 out of 80 bottles were already sold. What were they thinking? Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they share the same belief with Jammie Nicholas who explained  "which analyses the theoretical and social implications of feces, and its role as a building material for cosmetics. (This cosmetic part of the info made me shudder.) It suggested that pleasant smells were used to cover bad smells, so it could be suggested that a bad smell could be used to cover pleasant smells." If there's such thing as an obsession about smelling bad, then this perfume is definitely for them, yeah baby! Made me wonder who would create and what would the next "genius" scent be.
