Yesterday, the world was wrapped in fear, shock and loss as the news of a terrorist attack in Paris broke. But aside from Paris, there are other countries, which got less media coverage, but still attacked nevertheless. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
But what we should also pray for is not only for Beirut, Paris, Baghdad, Lebanon and other places with casualties and have been victimized by these terrorists but we should also pray for the innocent muslims and refugees who will receive the wrath of a wounded country. With people knowing who to blame but not knowing who specifically those perpetrators are, who will, out of frustration, blame any muslim or refugee in sight just so they can have an outlet of their anger. May these people stop being narrow-minded and before they think of anything, may they think first that one religion doesn't make all people the same, one country doesn't make them all the same person. May these innocent ones whose only connection to the disgusting murderers are their religion and race be safe from harm, ridicule and unjustly treatment from people who are too close-minded to even notice that they are becoming who they hate.
Subjecting these muslims and refugees to unjustly treatment just because they share the same race with these ruthless people who claimed responsible for these blood shed doesn't make you far from these killers victimizing the innocent and it is quite saddening really.
To these people who's starting to spread hate posts (or worse, actions) to the muslims and refugees:
Hating on the innocent because of race and hurting them (if you are the violent one), does that make you feel any better then? Yeah? Then you are a poor excuse for a human being.
Does hurting somebody who share the same race/religion with those killers make you feel any better? Even knowing that they are innocent and got nothing to do with it and just as shocked as you are of these ruthless killings? Did it ever cross your mind that they have also lost loved ones because of these criminals?
Did you think that every insult you hurl their way, every pain they feel (no thanks to you), gets back to the real killers and makes them feel the pain that you've just subjected these poor people? No? Yeah, I don't think so too.
Does terrorizing the innocent muslims and refugees just because they share the same race and religion with these terrorists, solve any problem? Did it make you catch the killers? Have you avenged lives lost coz of the killers' sins by creating another sin? Directed to innocent ones at that?
These people are victims just like you, shocked by what happened to their adoptive countries. They are also the one who fleed the land they grew up in because, just like you, they want to have freedom from the violence. They are just trying to live and start life anew but these disgusting killers make it hard for them because whether they like it or not, they are connected by race and religion; and you being a judgmental, racist, stereotypist that you are is making it worse. Can't you just give them a break?
Just because you don't have the people to blame in your hands who deserve every beating, that doesn't mean that you can just blame and vindicate the next person. And you think you are being fair by being unfair. How is that being fair when you vindicate somebody who didn't do anything?
No, sharing the same race, religion or bloodline doesn't make them the same person and that will never be an excuse. Didn't you have some notorious criminals in your race? Did the world hate you for being the same color as them? Did you receive beatings and insults just because you share the same country and religion? You didn't. Then what gives you the right to treat these people like that now?
You are not far from the killers you hate because you may not be as violent as they are, but just like them, you have persecuted the innocent.
It infuriates me thinking that because you think you are the victims, it now gives you the right to victimize the innocent.
We don't need your hate, what we need now is unity and compassion for each other because right now, humanity needs all the love it can get.
